How The Soul
Nights Begun.
Back in
the early Autumn of 2007 the Stoke On Trent Outer Circle Scooter Club
lads wanted to have some back ground music on at their weekly meetings
at The Foxley pub in Milton, Stoke On Trent.
Collo,
aka Mary Fox’s Record Fairy, was set about the task of sorting it out,
so after arranging with a local DJ to provide the equipment, we now had
to find guys to play a few tunes, original it was Collo & Mano, who
copped for the job but it was a bit too much for just two, so Collo &
Mano invited Amo, followed by Mick Reynolds & Keith Beardmore to come
down & play a few tunes. Then Fizza & Bob Banks joined in, shortly
followed by a regular attendee Arthur Copplestone.
The
Foxley Soul Brother Six was born! Yes, I know we can’t count, cause
there 8 of ‘em now!!!
The lads
swap it around between them, with 4 of them playing each week, together
with a few guest dropping in every now again. Guests we’ve had are Mozza
& Nige Brown from South Staffs & local lads Pete Lawton & Pete
Schofield.
The
music policy is easy, you can play anything you want too. If you pay us
a visit on a Tuesday night, you’ll hear everything from the classics
sounds from the Wheel, the Torch, Wigan, Stafford etc right up to the
top tunes from the current northern, crossover & modern venues.
As a few
of the lads go to Soul In The Sun both in Tenerife & Lanzarote, you’re
likely to hear the latest tunes that are spun at these events too.
Music
starts around 8pm every Tuesday night & goes on till 11pm. The landlord
of the Foxley very kindly puts food on, as we always attract regular
visitors from outside the Potteries, namely Rugeley & Stafford in the
south of our area and Crewe and South Cheshire to the north.
Get
yourself down to The Foxley on a Tuesday, you’ll be made most welcome.
The Foxley pub is located just off the main A53 Stoke to Leek road, at Foxley Lane, Milton, Stoke On Trent & the post code for your SATNAV is ST2 7EH.
Cheers &
KTF
